A delicious, homemade macaroni recipe- with creamy cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon. An easy recipe that goes with just about anything-simple or fancy. A favorite of our guests at the Ranch, it goes great with our Pulled Pork recipe 🙂 The noodles can be cooked, drained and set aside ahead of time to speed things up.
Rockin’ 7 Bacon Cheddar Mac
- 1 Pound Dry Elbow Macaroni Noodles (Cook, Drain, and Set Aside)
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1/2 Cup Flour
- 1 Quart Heavy Cream
- 1 1/2 Pounds White Cheddar Cheese (Grated)
- 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 Cup Crumbled Bacon (cooked) (Divided)
Directions-
- Cook, drain, and set the noodles aside.
- Grate cheese and set aside.
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour.
- Cook about 2 minutes while stirring.
- Slowly whisk in cream, and continue to cook while stirring til it thickens a little.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheese, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup of the crumbled bacon.
- Add noodles and pour into a greased 13×9″ or larger pan.
- Sprinkle with remaining bacon, and bake for about 30 minutes at 350.
