Hi there! Just wanted to show you a fun project I finished up last week 🙂 I had been planning to make a bench for our little camping spot, when I came across the IG Builder’s Challenge. I am not a competitive person, but it looked like a fun way to challenge myself, learn from and be inspired by others, and it required me to build a bench which I wanted to do anyway 🙂
I used the plans required– I’m a huge Ana White fan, so I knew this would be fun! I decided to incorporate a little design I came up with for some scrap wood signs I made awhile back.
I also decided to build it using old barnwood from our ranch. I ripped 2x6s into 2x4s, and planed some down to get the lighter look. These all came from an unused set of corrals that belonged to Brad’s great-uncle George. He was killed as a result of injuries from a farming accident, and never had a family- so it’s cool to have something to remember him by.
Tough choice!
Looks like my testers approve 🙂
I’m super happy with how this turned out! We actually love this so much, I put it in the house- so I’ll have to build another for our camping spot 😉 And I loved seeing all the entries for the IG Builders Challenge! Blown away by the creativity and genius out there!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
Be still my heart. This is so beautiful! Goegrous work.
Thank you so much, Holly!!
